What do you do if you injure your foot

Post by root »

I had a motorcycle accident around 2008. I injured my foot, it was swollen for months, bruised, and numb.

For one year I was bedridden. I had an Internet business, cheapbooks.com, and I worked with my laptop while laying in bed.

I vowed that when I can stand without crutches, I would go on vacation, but it would have to be without walking. Hotel to taxi to restaurant and back.

I used crutches for nine years, every day.

I still felt pain after that, but not so often.

I don't remember the last time my foot hurt.

Here's how you heal it the fastest

- don't place your foot on the ground or touching any surface

- hang your foot off the side of the bed or off a chair

- use ice once per day until it becomes painful. the ice, once painful, numbs the nerves. if you do not feel pain from the ice, it won't work

- always use crutches or ideally a wheelchair

- when walking, place the crutch on the ground first, and then step your foot adjacent to the crutch, so the crutch is toughing your insole

- if you have medicine, and you use it at night, you will have a good night's sleep with no side effects

- ice works better than medicine (such as pain killers)

- use medicine for inflammation

- if you touch the damaged area of your foot, stretch the muscle, or touch the bone, it will halt the healing process. So don't touch it
